My Journey
in 2019, i unintentionally launched my own e-commerce business making and selling custom cedar shelves. What started as a one-off diy project - to design the perfectly offset wooden shelf for my plant children - grew into a thriving e-commerce business.
when i was unable to find the shelf that I envisioned in my head, I crafted my first shelf — a piece so undeniably adorable that It sold over 250x on fb Marketplace alone. recognizing the demand, i developed a comprehensive digital marketing strategy that targeted (& converted) the highest-end of my potential market.
how’d i do it? tirelessly learning the e-commerce landscape and my ideal target customer. using research-informed digital strategies, in-depth audience analysis, and a commitment to continuous optimization, I scaled my small business to six-figure annual revenue in the first two years.
Running my own small business taught me invaluable lessons about entrepreneurship, business strategy, growth marketing, customer behavior, and the power of authentic brand positioning paired with a quality product.
This experience, combined with my interdisciplinary background in journalism, social work, and anthropology, gives me a deep empathy for entrepreneurs and a unique customer-centric perspective focused on building authentic connections and driving growth.
When I'm Not Working
I’m with my 140lb Cane Corso, Little Kevin. I love woodworking, art of any kind, nature, and taking care of my plants (They seem to thrive on neglect😉).
